Sampanzee ChopShop is a mic-first sampler and an XY Mutation Matrix dressed as a dark terminal. Record a voice, beatbox, table knock, or strange little noise, trim the useful part, and turn it into loops, scratches, stutters, and tape stops. Import your own samples when you want a different starting point.

What you get

Quick start

1. Grant microphone access if you want to record, then hold REC and make a short sound.
2. Release REC and drag the waveform end handles to trim the sample.
3. Choose LOOP to get started. Move your thumb across the large XY pad and listen to how each axis changes playback.
4. Try the other modes, engage HOLD for sustained playback, and add CRUSH in small amounts.
5. Use LIB to save a result or import a WAV, MP3, or sample pack. Imported audio is limited to the short sample window.

Controls

REC captures only while held. Waveform handles set the sample boundaries. Mode buttons choose the mutation. The XY pad performs it; HOLD latches it; CRUSH adds grit; LIB manages samples.

Requirements and connection

Android 4.4+ in landscape. Microphone permission is required for recording. Headphones help you hear the details and reduce speaker sound feeding back into the mic.

Runs offline with no account, advertising, or tracking. The APK requests microphone access and has no internet permission.

3. On Android, extract a ZIP first if supplied, then open the APK. If Android requests permission, allow installation from the browser or file manager you are using and return to the installer.
4. Open the app and grant only the permissions needed for the features you use. You can turn installation permission off again after installation.

Questions before you buy

Can it play several tracks at once?

The instrument intentionally uses one mono voice. It is a live sampler, rather than a multitrack recording workstation.

Can I use it without recording?

Yes. Load starter material or import a sample through LIB.

Why is my import short?

The working sample window is up to five seconds. Trim a longer sound before importing if you want a specific section.
