Scope and contact

JMS CNC publishes RotatoCAM and RotatoVIEW. This policy covers these desktop applications, including distribution through the Microsoft Store, and the related RotatoCAM pages and JMS CNC online store. For privacy questions or requests, contact therealrevjmoney@gmail.com.

Your models and machining files

Ordinary model import, toolpath generation, G-code export and simulation run on your computer. The applications do not automatically upload your CAD models, machining jobs or G-code to JMS CNC. Files, settings and activation information are stored locally. If you deliberately send files to support or share them on a community service, that information is received by the recipients you choose. An external assistant or MCP client you connect may transmit the information you give it to its service provider under that provider's privacy policy; connecting such a client is separate from ordinary desktop processing.

Licensing and activation

Online activation sends your license key, product, application version and a device identifier to the JMS CNC licensing service. The identifier is derived by hashing the computer name, a network hardware identifier and operating-system family; the raw computer name and hardware address are not sent in the activation payload. Activation records can include the request IP address and activation time and can be associated with a purchase or customer account. We use this information to validate licenses, manage computer seats, prevent misuse and provide support. Supported offline activation avoids the online activation request.

Update checks and downloads

The desktop application checks for updates at startup. Checks and update downloads can send the edition or platform, application version and an identifier. Pro uses its licensing device identifier; Community Edition uses a randomly generated installation identifier for update checks. Servers can also record IP address, request time and user-agent information. We use these records to deliver updates, measure installations and versions, investigate download problems and protect the service. These identifiers and logs should not be treated as anonymous. The application can continue working without an internet connection after any required activation, but online updates and feedback then remain unavailable.

Free downloads, accounts and orders

When you request an emailed Community Edition download, we record the email address, requested release, request and delivery details, and download activity. A link expiring does not delete its email-request history. Store purchases and accounts may contain your name, email, billing and delivery details, purchased products, payment status, order history and license information. We use these records to deliver software or merchandise, administer accounts and licenses, handle refunds and meet recordkeeping obligations. Payments are handled by the checkout payment provider, including Square where offered. We do not receive your full payment-card number through the desktop applications. Download emails and purchase receipts are service messages; newsletter preferences are handled separately.

Feedback and community support

A report submitted through the application sends the message, category, optional email address, application version, operating-system details and device identifier. Reports are stored by JMS CNC and may be emailed to support. Files or other details you voluntarily send may also be retained with the support record. We may record a Discord handle you provide and associate it with your customer or support record. Discord controls information you provide on its own service. Do not post license keys or confidential machining files in public channels.

Website logs, cookies and embedded services

RotatoCAM pages use first-party traffic and download logging. Records can include page paths, releases, installation identifiers, timestamps, IP addresses, referring URLs, browser and operating-system details, and approximate country information. These first-party counters do not require tracking cookies. The WordPress store uses cookies or similar storage for login, shopping carts, checkout and preferences, and currently includes Google tags for measurement and advertising. Google may process online identifiers, IP and browser information and activity according to its settings and privacy policy. Embedded YouTube videos can connect to Google/YouTube when loaded or played. A privacy-enhanced video domain does not mean no data is transmitted. Browser cookie controls and available consent choices can limit these activities, although blocking essential cookies can prevent account or checkout functions.

Who receives information

Information is available to JMS CNC and service providers needed for hosting, email, store operation, payments, analytics, advertising, support and community services. Relevant providers can include Square, Google/YouTube, Discord and Microsoft when you use their services. Our store software includes WordPress, WooCommerce and licensing tools; installing this software does not itself mean every record is transmitted to its vendor. Customer city, region, postal code or country may be used with OpenStreetMap/Nominatim to display an approximate customer location in our private administration dashboard. We may disclose information when required by law or to address fraud, security incidents or legal claims. Service providers and linked sites apply their own privacy policies to their independent processing.

Storage, retention and security

Local project files remain on the devices or storage you choose. Service records are stored on our hosting, store and email systems and may be processed in countries other than yours. We use access restrictions and protected administration areas for server records, but no system can guarantee complete security. Current download-request histories and first-party traffic records have no automatic deletion deadline and are retained until manually removed or a retention setting is applied. Account, order, license and support records may also be retained for ongoing service, accounting, legal or security purposes. Ask us about removal of records associated with you; some records must remain for legitimate obligations, and backup copies may persist after active records are removed.

Your choices and requests

You can choose whether to submit feedback, share files, join Discord or subscribe to newsletters. Use an unsubscribe link where provided, or contact us about newsletter preferences. Browser settings can restrict cookies and external content. Where applicable law provides rights, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection or an opt-out of applicable advertising-related sharing by emailing therealrevjmoney@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity and explain any legal or technical limits. The current desktop build does not provide a separate update-telemetry opt-out switch; restricting its network access also prevents online updates, activation and feedback. These products and services are not directed to children under 13. Contact us if a child has submitted personal information so we can investigate.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when relevant data practices change and show the revised date. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
