RotatoCAM 5X Control, Mach3 Edition v0.2
Theme: Dark Dreamsicle
For PVC-3020F. Mach3 screen only.

This file changes what Mach3 draws. It does not connect to a machine by itself,
and it does not set motor steps, direction, limits, spindle, or trunnion geometry.

WHAT CHANGED SINCE v0.1
Visual: the whole screen was repainted in the Dark Dreamsicle identity
(graphite panels, vanilla DRO plates, one restrained orange accent). Assets are
lossless PNG instead of JPEG, one per control, all inside the RotatoCAM5X
bitmap folder. Layout, pages, control positions and OEM codes are unchanged.
Fixes: the four rotary STEP buttons now actually send the selected step size,
SPINDLE STOP works while the axes are moving, REF ALL waits for each axis and
gives up after three minutes per axis, and ZERO A+B refuses while moving.
See V0.2_AUDIT.txt for the item-by-item status, including what still needs a
live test on the machine.

INSTALL
1. Back up the current Mach3 profile and the current .set file.
2. Close Mach3.
3. Copy RotatoCAM5X.set into the Mach3 folder, normally C:\Mach3.
It replaces the v0.1 file of the same name.
4. Copy the RotatoCAM5X folder into C:\Mach3\Bitmaps so the path is
C:\Mach3\Bitmaps\RotatoCAM5X\. Let it overwrite the v0.1 bitmaps, or
delete the old folder first: v0.2 uses none of the v0.1 file names.
5. No macros are included. Button scripts live inside the .set.
6. Start Mach3.
7. View, Load Screens, choose RotatoCAM5X.set.
8. With the machine clear, check every axis direction before a cut.

MACHINE THIS SCREEN WAS DRAWN FOR
PVC-3020F, recorded 2026-07-22.
Travel X 300 mm, Y 200 mm, Z 100 mm.
Spindle 500 W DC, 0 to 12000 rpm, ER11.
A is trunnion tilt, 5:1. B is the rotary chuck, 4:1.
Notes call the rotary the B axis. This screen uses that same pairing.
Do not swap the letters to match another machine.
USB Mach3 on this machine is index-and-cut. The screen runs posted XYZAB
moves. It does not solve a pivot and it does not do TCP.

CONFIRM BEFORE THE FIRST AIR CUT
In Config, Motor Tuning, A and B are rotational, not linear.
Positive A tilts the way you expect. Positive B spins the chuck the way you expect.
The test-feed DRO is degrees per minute. A blank value runs at 360 deg/min.
Hold buttons for A use Mach3 jog. B has step and preset moves only. The stock
Mach3 screen on this development PC has A jog buttons and no B jog button, so
no B hold code was invented. That policy is unchanged in v0.2.

ZERO sets a work coordinate. GO and STEP move. REF homes. Those three are
different buttons on purpose, and in v0.2 they are also coloured differently:
cream for ZERO, orange for anything that moves, green for REF.

RETRACT Z BEFORE ANY GO OR STEP
A GO preset or a rotary STEP tilts A or spins B from wherever the machine is
standing. The screen does not lift Z first and does not know what the cutter is
in. Tilting at depth swings the part into the tool. Lift Z yourself first.

FIRST PRESS SANITY CHECK
Put STEP DEG on 5 and press A STEP +. It should start moving straight away. If
the button instead sits for a minute or two before anything happens, the wait
loops are sleeping in the wrong unit on this Mach3 build; see the Sleep() entry
in V0.2_AUDIT.txt. It is not dangerous, but say so and it gets fixed.

READING THE SCREEN
Top strip: mode and state chips, each with its own Mach3 LED.
MACH COORD lights when the DROs are showing machine coordinates instead of
G54 work coordinates. There is no separate full-width banner: the LED bitmap
fields in this .set format are not documented well enough to trust a banner
that might be stuck on. Watch that chip.
RUN page, left: LINEAR is X Y Z, TRUNNION is A tilt and B rotate. The rotary
plates carry an orange edge and the axis tiles say DEG.
STEP DEG shows the selected rotary step. It is the source of truth for the
A STEP and B STEP buttons. There is no per-button highlight, because a Mach3
bitmap button has one image and cannot change state.

PROBE
START Z PROBE checks that the probe is clear, feeds down a short distance, and
writes work Z only if the probe trips. A missed trip leaves Z alone. Back off
and look at the numbers before you trust it.

Feed override plus and minus use OEM codes 108 and 109 from the Artsoft button
list. The jog codes in that same list match this PC's stock 1024.set. Those two
feed codes were not printed on a stock button, so try them with the override
DRO visible before you depend on them.
